Roy Buchanan: Music
Demo
(Testing Roys 53" Tele "Nancy" during R&D session 2005)
This is me, Don Mare, testing the real '53 Tele, Nancy, during sound lab research sessions (2005) while developing the 2324 pickup set and the Nancy Heart circuit.Heres a clip of when I played Nancy in 2007,
I was called to go fix it because the owner Mac Yasuda along with Jim Weider
both thought a wire came loose and cause it to be "Out Of Phase"
This was because Jim had his 53' there side by side and finally someone could determine that type of thing (Jims ears are Gold!) I had sent Jim over to go buy Nancy.. this after getting mac to agree that Jim would be a good guy to
own her. since Jim is more enthusiastic about the Buchanan Legacy - Mac is
not... and the amount of emails and phone calls he receives has been bothersome - to the point where selling it would be the thing for him to do.
I knew about this and tried to line it up for Jim to buy it.
On that day when they meet Jim took along his new signature Fargen Amp
and his 53' - Jim's "golden ears" heard that slight out of phase sound -
that was the neck pup bleeding in slightly thru a bad switch - and because its thru the switch - only the highs from the out of phase neck bleed in.
Jim was a major player in discovering that - from that I created the Nancy Heart circuit with a push pull pot and some filter caps - the caps were another discovery that was under Nancy's control plate.
well this is the sound clip - its me playing thru my Vibrolux, and it was recorded with Radio Shack Cassette Recorder -
This was a great day in my life - I hope you will enjoy hearing Nancy being played once more - on that special day in 2007
Cheers
Don Mare
